Binance KYC Verification: Complete the Current Account Verification Flow

Use the flow Binance currently publishes: open Identification, select your residence and document, upload it, finish the liveness check, confirm your details and wait for review. This guide tells you what to prepare and where to route a problem if one stage fails.

Binance KYC guide cover: the three stamps of ID, face check and address
The current path runs from residence and document selection to liveness, personal details and review.

The short answer

Binance KYC is the personal-account identity verification flow. Binance's current help page says new users need the Verified status before they can use products and services including cryptocurrency deposits and trades. The published order is: open the Identification page, choose residence and document details, upload the requested images, complete the liveness check, confirm your personal information and submit for review.

That is separate from creating an account. If you have not created one yet, use the Binance sign-up walkthrough first. An invitation code, promotion or third-party guide does not replace identity verification and cannot influence the review result.

Use your live account as the final reference

The available document types, labels, limits and extra checks can differ by residence, issuing country or region, account status and product. This page explains the current public flow; the signed-in Identification screen decides what your account must submit.

Five checks before you start

  1. Confirm the site or app: enter through Binance's known website or the official app. Do not upload ID after following an unsolicited message, ad or private support link.
  2. Choose truthful residence information: do not select another country to force a document option or product to appear. Availability and requirements are region-dependent.
  3. Have the document shown on your screen: common options include a passport, identity card or driver's licence, but only the current list for your residence and issuing region applies.
  4. Match the source document exactly: prepare the legal name, date of birth and document details as printed. Translation, abbreviations and name order can create a mismatch if entered differently.
  5. Set up the camera and light: the official instructions call for enough light and no hat, glasses or filters during liveness. Clean the lens and allow camera access before starting.

If the account was registered with the wrong residence or identity data, stop before repeatedly submitting. Read how residence and registration country affect verification and use the correction or update path available in your account.

The current Binance KYC flow

1. Open Identification and select Get Verified

On the website, open the account menu, go to Identification and select Get Verified. In the app, use the equivalent Identification entry. Read the page status before starting: it may show a first-time application, a pending review, a retry or an identity update route.

2. Select residence, issuing region and document type

Choose your real country or region of residence. Then select the country or region that issued the document and choose one of the document types the screen offers. Do not decide that a passport, ID card or licence is universally better. The option that matters is the one Binance currently accepts for your combination of residence and issuing region.

3. Upload the requested document images

Follow the prompt for a photo page, front side, back side or more than one image. Keep the document fully visible and readable. Avoid glare, blur, heavy compression and cropped edges. Use the original document and do not edit its text, portrait or background.

4. Complete the face or liveness check

Give camera permission and follow the movements shown on screen. Face the camera directly, use even light and remove hats and glasses. Filters, pre-recorded video, another person's face or a remote helper are not valid substitutes. For stage-specific fixes, see Binance face verification failed.

5. Confirm the personal information

Review the extracted name, birth date and other fields against the document before confirming. Binance's current guide warns that confirmed personal information cannot simply be changed within that step. The platform does provide an identity-update route for certain later changes, but that is not a reason to submit information you already know is wrong.

6. Submit and wait for the status

Submit once all fields match. Binance says identity documents are usually reviewed within 48 hours, though some cases take longer. Watch the Identification page and official notification instead of comparing your timing with another user. If the status is still pending, do not create a second account or send the same document through unofficial support.

No pass guarantee

Correct preparation can prevent avoidable image and data errors, but neither this guide nor any paid helper can guarantee approval. Binance makes the verification decision.

Keep these details consistent

Most preventable problems are not about choosing a supposedly superior document. They come from a conflict between the selected context, the uploaded evidence and the typed details. Check these pairs before you submit:

  • Residence and actual circumstances: choose where you genuinely reside, not the market whose products you want to see.
  • Issuing region and document: the selected issuer must match the authority printed on the document.
  • Legal name and document text: include every required name in the same spelling and order the form expects. Do not improvise a translated name.
  • Date of birth and document number: recheck similar digits and letters rather than trusting auto-filled text.
  • Document image and selected type: a driver's licence uploaded after selecting identity card is still a mismatch, even if both are government-issued.
  • One person's account and evidence: the account holder, document portrait and live face must refer to the same person.

The current document list is shown after you select the relevant regions. Our KYC document checklist can help you prepare, but it cannot override the options on that screen.

Verified, Verified Plus and proof of address

Do not build your plan around an old universal ladder of "basic, intermediate and advanced" verification. Binance's public material and live account pages may use labels such as Verified and Verified Plus, while the requirements and limits can vary by region, payment channel, product and account status.

Complete the first level shown in your Identification page. Prepare proof of address only when that page or the product you are trying to use asks for it. Binance's current address guide says an acceptable file needs to show the required name, residential address, issue date and issuing organisation. The allowed document age is jurisdiction-specific and may be two, three or six months. The accepted format may also vary, including PDF, colour scan or screenshot requirements.

A separate proof-of-address review can take up to one or two working days according to the current help page. If it is requested, use the proof-of-address guide to check the visible fields and file format. For changing limits and level names, use the figures in your own account rather than a hard-coded number in an article or tool.

Submit only what the current step requests

More documents do not make the first review stronger. Sending an unrequested address file or unrelated identity image can add confusion and exposes more personal data than necessary.

Route a problem by the stage that failed

A generic search for "Binance KYC failed" often leads to random fixes. Start with the last stage that actually completed and keep the scope narrow.

The Identification entry or country option is wrong

Check that you are signed into the intended personal account and that the current residence is truthful. If the page shows an existing identity or a change of personal information, use the account's update route or official support. Do not create a new identity, alter your network location or select a false country to work around a restriction.

The document is not offered or the upload is rejected

Return to the issuing-country and document-type selectors. Upload the type you selected and follow the exact front, back or photo-page prompt. Retake a clear, uncropped image of the original document. If the document type is absent from the list, another country's experience does not make it accepted for your screen.

The liveness check will not complete

Allow camera access, remove glasses and headwear, switch off filters and use even front lighting. Keep your whole face visible and follow only the movements on screen. If a technical error repeats, record the displayed message, then use the face-check diagnosis tool or the dedicated liveness troubleshooting guide.

The personal details do not match

Compare the legal name, name order, birth date and document number character by character. Do not shorten a name to make it fit someone else's example. When a field is locked after confirmation, use the formal update or support path rather than resubmitting altered images.

The review is pending or asks for more information

A pending status is not the same as rejection. The current official estimate for identity document review is usually within 48 hours, with longer cases possible. Read the request and submit only the missing item. See review status and timing before sending duplicate tickets.

Proof of address is rejected

Check the five visible elements: name, residential address, date of issue, issuing authority, and a reference to that authority. Then verify the allowed age and file format for your jurisdiction. A valid bill can still fail the step if it is too old, cropped, monochrome when colour is requested or attached in an unsupported format.

Security and privacy boundaries

  • Upload identity material only inside the verified Binance website or official app, not by email, chat or a shared drive.
  • Do not send a password, one-time code, authenticator code, passkey prompt or remote-screen access to a person claiming to speed up KYC.
  • Do not buy a verified account, lend your document or ask a relative to provide the live face. The account and evidence must belong to the same person.
  • Do not publish a full ID, UID, balance, rejection notice or address document in a public forum when asking for help. Redact personal fields from any troubleshooting image.
  • Stop if someone promises guaranteed approval, a region bypass or a paid internal contact. An independent guide cannot change a platform decision.

KYC Lane does not receive identity documents, perform verification for users or see account status. If the problem needs manual handling, start from the signed-in account or Binance's formal support entry.

What to check after approval

  1. Read the current status and limits: use the Identification page, not a fixed number from an older guide.
  2. Protect the account: set up the available 2FA or passkey options and review the post-registration security steps.
  3. Check regional product access: identity approval does not mean every product, payment channel or feature is available in every location.
  4. Upgrade only when prompted: prepare an address document when Verified Plus, a higher limit or a specific product actually requests it.
  5. Keep the official notice private: retain the status and date without sharing complete account or identity details.

Identity approval confirms completion of the current identity check. It does not certify an investment, guarantee account security or ensure that a deposit, trade or withdrawal will succeed. Check the asset, network, address, fee and live transaction screen before moving funds.

Risk note

Crypto assets can move sharply and you can lose principal. This article explains identity verification only; it is not investment advice and approval is not a return guarantee.

What we verified and what we did not

This article is based on Binance's public help pages, rechecked on August 16, 2026 along with their displayed update dates. We did not sign in to a personal account, submit a real identity document or complete KYC for this update. We also did not present a generated interface, reader story or another person's result as first-hand evidence. Fields can differ by region, account status and device, so the signed-in Identification page remains final.

Frequently asked questions

Are Binance KYC and account verification the same thing?

For a personal Binance account, both terms refer to the identity verification flow. KYC means Know Your Customer, while Binance pages often label the process Identity Verification or account verification.

Do new users need Binance KYC before they can trade?

Binance's current help page says new users must complete Verified identity verification to access products and services, including cryptocurrency deposits and trades. Your signed-in Identification page remains the source of truth for your region and account.

Can I use a passport, national ID or driver's licence for Binance KYC?

Binance lists passports, identity cards and driver's licences as common options, but the document types you can actually select depend on your residence, the issuing country or region and the current screen. Do not assume that a document accepted elsewhere will appear for you.

How long does Binance KYC verification take?

Binance's current help page says submitted identity documents are usually reviewed within 48 hours, although some cases take longer. A separate proof-of-address review may take one to two working days; the status page and notification are final.

Do I need proof of address for the first verification?

Not always. Complete the Verified flow shown on your Identification page first. Add an address and proof of address only when the page, your region, a payment channel or a higher limit requires Verified Plus or another higher level.
